Built for beginners, proven at the highest level
ROQ was built for beginners, fitness enthusiasts, and climbers looking to elevate their training. Our coached sessions are designed to help you feel successful from day one.
Getting Started
I've never climbed. Will I be lost?
Not for a second. Many first-time ROQ clients have never climbed before.
Our instructors guide every minute — you'll know exactly what to do, at every point. Many of our members started with zero climbing experience, and that's exactly who ROQ was built for.
ROQ classes focus on movement, confidence, and progression — and also incorporate many traditional fitness exercises you already know like squats, situps, rowing and more.
"I had never really climbed before and wasn’t sure that I’d be able to do it. Dylan did an excellent job breaking down the basics of climbing, safety, and movement in a way that was easy to understand and fun. The class felt welcoming and beginner-friendly, and I never felt rushed or intimidated."
What if I’m nervous or not in shape?
That’s exactly why ROQ exists.
Every class is coach-led and scalable, meaning you can move at your own pace while still feeling challenged. The goal of your first session is not perfection — it’s building confidence and having a successful first experience.
Most members are surprised by how quickly they feel capable.
I'm an experienced climber, should i still take the intro class?
Yes! The intro class is required for all new to ROQ, regardless of your climbing experience. The Intro class isn't a formality — it's the foundation everything else is built on. In a single session, you'll learn how ROQ works and what makes our training different, straight from our coaches. This isn't a watered-down preview. It's a full, high-energy class.
Experienced climbers get oriented to the ROQ methodology and spend time dialing in the climbing level you’ll work from going forward, so every future session provides maximum benefit.
WHAT CLASS FEELS LIKE
What does a class actually feel like?
You'll walk in, get a quick orientation, and within minutes you'll be on the wall — guided the whole way. No figuring it out alone. The 60 minutes break down into 40 minutes of climbing (tailored to your level, if you’re new your coaches will provide you with all the guidance you need), 10 minutes of rowing, and 10 minutes of strength work. Then: sauna, shower, done.
Think:
Will I actually be climbing?
Yes! — but in a format specifically designed for learning and progression.
ROQ uses climbing as part of a larger training methodology, helping beginners build movement skills while giving experienced climbers a structured way to improve strength, endurance, and coordination.
