Meet the people who make ROQ possible.

Michael started climbing in 2013 and has been obsessed with movement and performance his whole life. He was an NCAA All-American swimmer at Princeton, where he studied Computer Science. He’s climbed difficult outdoor boulders, sport routes, and alpine lines around the world. He’s also a NASM-certified personal trainer. "I started ROQ to combine the best parts of group fitness - the energy, structure, passionate coaching, and camaraderie - with climbing, a sport that’s endlessly creative, athletic, and rewarding.

Hailey may not run the day-to-day, but she’s been a co-creator of ROQ’s spirit from the start. She’s the sounding board for every idea, the voice of honesty during tough calls, and the steady encouragement that keeps the mission moving. ROQ exists in part because she believed in it, and in Michael, long before the doors opened. A climber since 2020, she loves the process of improvement and seeing herself get stronger, energy she brings to ROQ as well.

Matt’s coached competitors for some of the most successful youth programs as well as adults of all ability levels. He's one of the world's best climbers, having sent multiple V16 boulders. But what really sets Matt apart? He’s humble, down-to-earth, and fully invested in helping you improve. His programming is backed by experience and science, built from over two decades of climbing and coaching. "I'm excited to be a part of ROQ because it is creating a unique space where anyone can challenge themselves, grow, and have fun climbing!"

Lover of the outdoors, passionate marketer, and total gear nerd. Ty grew up exploring the Alaskan Chugach Range and developed a deep respect and love for human-powered adventures in the mountains. He started climbing at the Alaska Rock Gym in 1995 and has watched the evolution of the sport and community as climbing has grown from a niche sport to widespread and is excited to help up-level the standard climbing gym experience with ROQ. You can find Ty climbing, running, biking, skiing, hiking, or exploring all over the world, often with his camera in tow.

Hello! I'm Medwin, and I'm thrilled to be your Membership Lead. I bring extensive experience in training, operations, and business development from my time at TRX, Beachbody, and Cyclebar. What excites me most is connecting you with ROQ's innovative approach and fostering a supportive community to help everyone transform their fitness journey.

Dri has been climbing for just over three years, and it is her whole life. After landing her first job as a front desk crew member, she quickly found herself working just about every role at her local gym. From setting to coaching, helping with events to managing others, Dri knows what it takes to help a climbing gym thrive. She is stoked to bring her over eight years of experience in the service industry to build a new community at ROQ.

Ryan is a dedicated local Seattle climber with a strong passion for community. "In my role at ROQ, I want to help climbers achieve their goals in climbing through a holistic & sustainable approach." Previously, Ryan worked in retail management and event planning, and is excited to bringing this experience to the ROQ community!

Jacob has been climbing for over fifteen years and is passionate about helping people become the strongest, most capable version of themselves on and off the trail and wall, balancing performance and longevity. He loves supporting athletes through smart, sustainable training and fostering an environment where every climber feels empowered to grow. In addition to coaching, Jacob also contributes to ROQ’s operations and is excited to help build a community centered around challenge, creativity, and high-quality movement.

Camille finds purpose in the way fitness builds belonging and balance. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, she’s always felt that climbing captures the region’s essence - creative, resilient, and deeply connected to nature. At ROQ, she’s excited to help others discover that same sense of community and confidence through movement.

Andrew started climbing in 2019 and quickly fell in love with its varied and nuanced movement. His passion for climbing and his curiosity to learn how to become a better mover inspired him to become a NASM certified trainer and climbing coach in 2023. He is excited to share the benefits of climbing with others through his work at ROQ. When not at ROQ, you'll find him searching the Cascades for obscure boulders, remote alpine objectives, or just a peaceful place to enjoy a good book.

Dylan has loved climbing both indoors and out for over 12 years, and is excited to play a part in sharing ROQ's new concept with people of all backgrounds. He built a training board at home during covid lockdowns, and has logged over 400 days on different boards over the years. Having sent over 1100 problems on the Kilter board, he considers it his favorite training tool. He is thrilled at the opportunity to share his psych with fellow climbers!
